Welcome to VillageHouston!
A message from Pastor korista
It can be so hard to find our place in the city, can't it? Maybe you don't have anyone here you can call family or you're simply trying to find your way. VillageHouston is a community of faith shaped by the values of being Christ-Centered, Community Crafted and Audaciously Generous; where people with church baggage, feelings of marginalization and those who are looking for somewhere to belong can find community. We know how important it is to belong and we hope you will find VillageHouston is a place to call home and a people to call family in the great city of Houston.

Connecting with our community
Do you like the idea of taking a deep and intentional dive into the Christian and Hebrew scriptures? Then Deeper is the Bible study for you! We gather twice a month and take our time examining and learning from Scripture.
Top 5 reflects one of our core values at VillageHouston: we are community crafted. We value honest conversations about life and faith and we believe a church community should be a safe place to have such conversations.
It is not just our belief but our experience that God both hears and responds to our prayers. We take our needs, our dreams, our grief, and our desires to Jesus as a community of believers once a month. We hope you will join us!

Our Core Values
As followers of Christ we orient our lives, our practice, and our faith around Jesus. At VillageHouston every practice, belief, and relationship is centered in Christ. In this journey of faith, Jesus is our anchor, our model, and the one around whom we gather.
Just as Christ lived in and with community, crafting community wherever He went, VillageHouston does the same. Our community, both inside and outside of VillageHouston, is important to us. We want to build authentic relationships, loving each other and our neighbors well.
Because of Christ’s audacious generosity toward us, VillageHouston commits to living generously. Christ enables us to live in freedom from selfish ambitions through the spiritual practice of sharing our time, talents, and treasures with our neighbors.
What We Believe
We ascribe to the classical Christian beliefs as stated in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds.
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
